Cut & Shape Anything

A waterjet machine uses a high-pressure stream of water to cut through a variety of materials, including anything from foam to steel! It is essentially the same as natural water erosion, except it is accelerated and focused onto a specific material by orders of magnitude. It is used for shaping, cutting, carving, and reaming.

How does it work?

The machine generates pressure and then converts it into velocity. The stream can be as small as a human hair! If you need to increase cutting power, adding a garnet increases the stream’s abrasiveness. It will then be capable of cutting steel over a foot thick.

There are two types of water jet cutters for sale: abrasive and pure. An abrasive waterjet has a garnet attached and can cut through hard materials like metal or stone. A pure waterjet machine cuts softer materials like foam, carpet, or paper.

Find Everything You Need

The used waterjets for sale here consist of three components:

  • Table: The table is an X-Y nozzle mechanism with a garnet hopper attached and a catcher tank below.
  • Pump: This high-pressure water pump provides the pressurized water used for cutting.
  • Controller: This is a computer that controls the machine’s operations.

An advantage of waterjets is that they can cut metals without heat. Heat during cutting can often change the properties of the material.

Another advantage of using a waterjet machine is that it typically costs less than other machines because you do not need special tools or fixtures. Waterjets can cut anything, so the possibilities are endless with your machine. Waterjets can help create electronic parts, robots, and much more.
