Is it Hydraulic or Mechanical?
Depending on the type of used shearing machine you’re selling, we may need additional details including: does your equipment include a backgauge, a squaring arm or extra set of blades?
Contact us for the exact requirements of the metal shearing machine you wish to sell.
Condition Photographs
We will need photographs taken of the machine. We may request specific angles or components to show customers exactly what they are potentially purchasing. There are some components of machines that are prone to wear, so these should be included. Taking high-quality photographs initially will be very helpful in moving the process along. Visit our Help Center to learn more about used metal shearing machine photo guidelines.
Floor Requirements
We need to know what your floor requirements are. Can you keep this machine on your floor until it is sold? Or do you need the machine off the floor immediately? It is very expensive to move machines, so we can save you a lot of money if we keep the machine with you until we can find a buyer who will move the machine themselves. There is also the option of consignment arrangements.
Shears are used to cut sheet metal, aluminum, paper, plastic and even wood. Each machine has capabilities of cutting the thinnest metal to the absolute thickest one can withstand. It usually is the first machine that is used when manufacturing fabricated parts. There are guillotine shears and swing beam shears. A guillotine shear is the type that has the blade drive in a straight direction going down and up. A swing beam shear uses the power of leverage through a cantilevered ram to increase the tonnage which in turn increases the shearing capacity. There are also two types of shear drive systems. We have hydraulic and mechanical shears. Mechanical machines are powered by a flywheel and the hydraulic machines are powered by cylinders that forces the ram up and down. You will find our shears under the fabrication machine category.
