An Ironworker machine is really several machines all in one! Ironworkers can shear, form/bend, notch or punch metal. These fabrication machines tend to make much cleaner cuts, holes, and notches in metal than other machines. It is safe to say that this machine is a MUST for most Fabrication shops! These machines can come in various sizes, styles, and prices. Manual Ironworkers are on the cheaper side when it comes to price and take up less space than other types. Most of them include a backstop for repeated production processes. The biggest downside to manual Ironworkers is that they may not meet OSHA standards. Always check into that before you commit to purchasing one. If you are looking for an Ironworker to do heavy-duty production (thick material), then look no further than the Hydraulic powered Ironworker.

The machine may come standard with a flat bar shear, punching station, and angle iron shear. Some Ironworkers will even come with many different styles and sizes of punch & die sets. They may contain square, round, rectangle, keyhole and many more to select from. They may also come with various optional toolings such as press brake, pipe-notcher, rod shear, gaging table, radius notching, angle-notcher, or coper-notcher.

Ironworkers are said to be faster than most machines such as drill presses, lasers, plasma cutters, milling machines, and band saws. There is no heating of the material either, so that is one less thing to worry about during the fabrication process. These machines are known in the industry for accuracy, reliability, and productivity. Various materials can be used including stainless steel, cast iron, alloys, copper, aluminum, brass, and mild steel. In just one machine, you can perform up to five operations to produce a finished piece! Ironworkers can have multiple workstations built into the machine for versatility. They can vary anywhere from single-station to five-station and tonnage from 50 to 135 tons.
