Ogden Plate Seam Welder w/ material handling

The One Sided Seam Welder welds plates to form multi-plate panels, without the need to flip the panels over to weld a back bead. A bridge beam supports a movable carriage that carries the welding equipment and controls. The welding controllers and the operator interface (touch screen) controls are grouped together on the carriage. The carriage uses a rack and pinion drive mechanism controlled by a solid state variable speed controller to provide the precise travel required for seam welding.

The machine structure consists of a fabricated girder

The motor is controlled by a variable
frequency drive (VFD) for smooth and consistent welding speeds and is adjustable from 15 inches
up to 150 inches per minute. Rapid travel controls and a speed indicator will be provided.
The weld module carries the welding wire feeders, the welding torches, and the guidance
mechanism. The weld torch assembly is guided in the weld joint by a “V” groove guide wheel for
first pass welding.
