About Doosan

After completing the construction of their machine tool factory in 1976, Doosan produced one thousand machine tools in just three short years. Just one year later in 1980, Doosan began independently developing NC or numerical control lathes (PUMA 10) and started exporting numerical control machine tools in 1981. From 1983 to 1986, Doosan initiated the production of numerical control machining centers, hit both the 3,000 and 5,000 mark in machine tool production and received multiple awards including the Quality Control award and Parent Management award.

Doosan’s success continued in the nineties, reachingd a landmark milestone when they produced 10,000 machine tools. After receiving their ISO 9001 certification, Doosan Machine Tools established U.S. subsidiary DMC or Daewoo Machinery Corp. and began exporting CNC lathe manufacturing technology to China. In 1997, Doosan simultaneously developed all models of a new CNC lathe series, comprising of 26 models. By 1999, not only did Doosan chieve their IQRS and ISO 14000 certification, but just as before, they had received many awards including the Iron Tower Order of Industrial Service merit in recognition of the company’s excellent capital goods, the Korean National Quality award and the USD 100 Million Export Tower award.

Doosan had no intention of slowing down and by the year 2000, began exporting machine tool technologies to China. One year later, Doosan’s CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) lathe was chosen as one of the global top-tier products while their high-speed machining center was chosen as one of Korea’s top 10 new technologies of the year 2001.

By 2002, Doosan was chosen as a globally certified testing institute and selected as a model conglomerate in exports. From there, they were certified as Vision-640i Korean New Technology (NT) and began the contruction of a machine tools manufacturing plant in Yantai, China. Doosan spent the next few years collecting awards including the USD 700 Million Export Tower award, the USD 1 Billion Export Tower award, and the Technology Innovation award.

By 2007, Doosan integrated with the Doosan Mecatec Machine Tools BG and in 2008, they established the largest R&D center in Korea. Doosan’s multi-tasking turning center was selected as one of Korea’s top 10 new technologies of the year in 2003/2004 and the Doosan vertical machining center DNM series was chosen as Korea’s best-in-class technologies in 2009.

From 2010 to today, Doosan continued to collect a significant number of awards for innovation, excellence, and design as well as having their high-speed, high-rigidity and multi-axis NC (numerical control) lathe selected as one of Korea’s top 100 technologies of the year. By 2016 Doosan was renamed as Doosan Machine Tools Co,. Ltd. and by May 2022, having led the global machine tool industry over the past 50 years and a spirit ready to take on any challenge, they were renamed as DN Solutions Co,. LTD.
